A brief note (for my own benefit as much as anyone's): Clive and Joyce Gilfroy were very dear friends of mine in the late 1960s and early 1970s (we shared a flat in Greenford for about a year, with Robert Boyd and the late John Wallington). They had a daughter, Susan, and later two sons, Kevin and Michael.

I lost touch with them when they moved out to Africa in the mid 1970s. I finally made contact with Joyce again in 1998, and went down to Portsmouth to see her (she and Clive split up some years ago, and Clive stayed out in southern Africa), when I also met the 'children' (now grown up), plus Susan's fiance, Martin, and their baby Alex.

This year I was delighted to receive an invitation to Susan and Martin's wedding, and doubly pleased when Joyce said Clive would be coming over to England and I would be able to see him for the first time in over 25 years! He also brought over his two children from his second marriage, Greg and Tarryn.

The wedding was lovely, the bride and bridesmaids were gorgeous, everyone was great and it was wonderful to meet up with Clive again. I'll see if I can make it out to Botswana sometime!
